Brief History
Southpoint College of Arts and Technology (SCAT), Inc. had its beginning in 2002 as a Technical Vocational school in a rented building in Pioneer Avenue, General Santos City. It was then operating under the new management in the year 2010 from a corporation with various members and trustees to a more intact, dedicated and mission-oriented Family Corporation. In 2011, the school moved to its own building in Spotto Street, Darimco Silway. And in year 2012, the school offered degree programs on Education, Business and Communication and Arts. With an expanding student body and an increasing demand for higher education, the institution is continually making an effort to improve its facilities and currently under its progressive building construction. Southpoint College of Arts and Technology (SCAT), Inc. is now presently managed by a Board of Trustees with a desire to promote Christian education.
Vision
SCAT aims to become one of the best Engineering Technology and Research Development Institutions that incorporates the different sciences of Engineering, Agriculture, Aquaculture, Education, and Entrepreneurship to uplift the spiritual, nationalistic, and professional aspect of every individual.
Mission
SCAT seeks to empower every mind to strive for faithful stewardship, global awareness, and innovative excellence; through this shall the glory of God be acknowledged forever.
GOAL
- To inculcate the teachings of Jesus Christ in every context of our academic curriculum through the use of cultural and spiritual frameworks in which we live.
- To encourage every individual to use their God-given talents to become responsible, productive and efficient members of the family, church, community and the world.
- To establish a firm mindset of faithful stewardship among each individual on how to link blessings and opportunities with duties and responsibilities.
- To help each individual discover their true worth and become agents in preserving humanity through peace, unity and equality.
- To secure the spiritual drive and innovative ambition of every individual in pursuance of their goals and God’s calling.

I am intense and keen in carrying my duties and responsibilities. I do not rely on hearsays and personal opinions for my judgments. I am guided by facts and protected by the rules.

I am just and fair. I am open-minded; I demonstrate a commitment to justice, equal treatment of individuals, and objective tolerance for diversity. I do not take malevolent advantages of another’s mistakes or adversities.
